Messages from neighbors Dr. David Goo and Dr. Jessica Doyle, formerly of the practice CorrectMed on Scott Blvd.
Thank you to all of the wonderful families and children that Dr. Goo and I have taken care of over the past year. Effective today (11.4.12), I have been terminated from CorrectMed. They said the reason for termination was that I had been telling people that there was not going to be a pediatrician coming after I left (I had actually only been telling people that there was no pediatrician currently in Urgent Care). I feel an immense sense of loss for the relationships that I have built with children and families over the past year. This termination was unexpected, so I still do not have set plans for the future. I was hoping to open a small practice in the area, but it seems that the non-compete clause in my contract will prevent me from working within a 10-mile radius of the office location for the next couple of years. I understand that this will mean that many of you will be looking for another pediatrician in this area, and I wish you all the best for finding a wonderful pediatrician to care for your children. As soon as I have definite plans, I will let you know. I have also attached a goodbye letter from Dr. Goo to his patients and families (below). Please let me know if there is anything that I can do to help make this situation any easier (firstname.lastname@example.org). Thank you again for all of your support. This experience has been hard at times, but ultimately it has been a wonderful thing to be able to be a part of the community.
Thank you so much,
To all my wonderful families and children,
I am so sad I can no longer be your doctor, but I have not stopped caring about you. I often think of the beautiful people and babies I had the privilege to work with. It was not my choice to leave so abruptly. If I had been in charge I would have contacted each of you individually and let you know what was going on. I also would have made arrangements for your follow up care in my absence since your child’s and family’s health are most important to me.
Please take care of yourselves and hopefully we will see each other around the neighborhood. I would love to see you and speak with you all personally. Perhaps the future will allow me to work with you again after a legally defined period has expired.
I was lucky to meet all of you and become part of this vibrant, exciting, and loving community. It was a great experience and I thank each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart.
Take care and be safe!
